Interns will be required to attend no more than 14 on-going training
sessions. 10 of the training sessions will be specific to teacher
methodologies, effective instruction, instructional strategies,
classroom management, technology, diverse learners; to include,
bilingual and special education. These sessions will be on
Thursday's from 6-9pm and held at the Omni Marina Hotel. Please

During the comprehensive coursework, four training sessions
pertaining to the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities (PPR) will
be reviewed and assessed for knowledge and understanding. Interns
will meet 4 times during the academic year on Thursdays for 8 hour
workshop's to discuss and review the following; Workshop: 1,
Designing Instruction and Assessment to Promote Student Learning;
Workshop: 2, Creating a Positive, Productive
Classroom Environment; Workshop: 3,
Implementing Effective, Responsive Instruction and Assessment,
Workshop: 4, Fulfilling
Professional Roles and Responsibilities. These sessions will be on
Thursday's from 6-9pm and held at the Omni Marina Hotel. Please

Student interns
are required to have a supervised internship. The Field
Supervisor will be assigned by the Program Coordinator. The
Field Supervisor is a highly qualified, experienced Texas
certified teacher (TxBESS Trained). The supervisor will conduct
periodic visits (4-6-9); at least four supervised visits; up
to six for those interns needing additional assistance; and up
to nine visits should any teacher be identified as a TINA
(Teacher in Need of Assistance). In the event the intern needs
assistance the supervisor will be there to assist and model
instruction, as well as implement effective classroom
management.
